Ham Radio Club

We are extremely illustrious for being a club that operates THREE! repeaters on three different bands: 2 meters, 1.25 meters, and 70 centimeters. Tune in for a QSO
WRAET conducts Wayne OEM-directed drills resulting in an expanded footprint of Wayne OEM, as well as backup and emergency communications.
We are also a general interest club with members interested in HF, Fox Hunting, DXing, JOTA, building antennas, and all other aspects of the hobby

What is Amateur Radio?
Amateur radio, often called Ham Radio, is both a hobby and a service in which participants, called “hams”, use various types of radio communication equipment to communicate with other radio amateurs for public service, recreation, and self-training.
Amateur radio operators enjoy personal (and often worldwide) wireless communications with each other and are able to support their communities with emergency and disaster communication if necessary.
How do I Become a Ham?
Before you can get on the air, you need to be licensed and know the rules to operate legally. US licenses are good for 10 years before renewal. There are three license classes: Technician, General and Extra.
WRAET holds VE exam sessions for anyone who wants to get their technician license or upgrade an existing license. We also hold training classes to prepare you for the exam.
We make it simple!
